A Galway man has pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to 19 counts of sexual assault against a young girl. The 63-year-old man entered the pleas on the day his trial was due to start in the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin. He pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting the girl at various locations, including his home and in Portugal, between 2005 and 2007.

Judge Patricia Ryan adjourned sentencing until April to allow medical reports for the man be prepared.
