A senior student with the Corrib Dance Academy in Briarhill has been
chosen to be featured on ‘Scope’ for RTE2. The programme is profiling
individuals with successful careers who have interesting hobbies.
Claire Lills is an engineer with a passion for dance. While studying for a bio medical engineering degree at NUIG, Claire founded the now successful Dancesoc. She splits her time between her work in Aerogen Ireland as a mechanical design engineer and training with the Corrib Dance Academy where she has been given the opportunity to work closely with professional dancers from hit West End musicals, such as ‘Cats’ and ‘Phantom of the Opera’, and ballet companies, such as Vienna Festival Ballet and English National Ballet. Also featured on ‘Scope’ with Claire are fellow academy students Stephanie Dufresne (winner at the national dance awards 2006), Mary Walsh, Elspeth McKeever and Jenny McKeever, who have all been members of the Arts Council funded national youth dance company and are training for their advanced classical ballet examination. ? ?
