The Galway Alliance Against War is organising a peace bus for a demonstration in Dublin on Saturday 10 November to mark one million US troops having travelled through Shannon Airport on their way to war.

According to GAAW, it is now estimated that one million people have also been killed in Iraq since the invasion.

"The Iraq war was based on a lie," said GAAW spokesperson Niall Farrell. "The people of the US and Britain were told the invasion was to destroy Saddam's non-existent weapons of mass destruction. In reality the invasion was about oil. And now more lies are being spun to prepare for an attack on Iran. Plenty of lies have been told in Ireland too, to excuse the use of Shannon by the US war machine."

Those interested in travelling to the peace demonstration should contact GAAW on 087-9159787 or by email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it The bus will leave from Galway Cathedral at 9.30am on Saturday 10 November.
