The architects behind the g hotel and the Eye Cinema in Wellpark have announced that they are to create ten new jobs in the city.

Douglas-Wallace currently employs 26 people in its Galway offices. It will create the ten new jobs as part of new expansion plans. The company have taken over Ferguson Wheeler, a Belfast-based architecture and design practice, which designed the Dundrum Town Centre.

Overall, the company plans to create 65 more jobs in the next three years and are delighted with the success of their Galway branch.

"We are delighted with this new development and we look forward to the continuing success of the business. Galway has always formed a key part of our business," said Hugh Wallace, Chief Executive Officer of Douglas Wallace.

"It is a cosmopolitan city with a strong identity in terms of culture and design. It is a natural home in which to practice architecture and we look forward to the continuing growth of our business from Galway and across the western seaboard."
