The ninth annual GOAL Ball will take place on Friday 13 November in the Clayton Hotel, Galway. The GOAL Ball phenomenon has spread like wildfire and events are now held in nine cities worldwide. But all of the balls have one thing in common, the determination guests have to raise money for the poorest of the poor across the 11 developing countries the agency works in.

"Last year, thanks to the generosity of the people of Galway and beyond, the Galway GOAL Ball raised in excess of €35,000, which we were thrilled with," said GOAL West of Ireland manager, Ronan Scully. "We are delighted to be welcoming back RTE’s Michael Lyster, who has kindly agreed to act as MC on the night."

The ball, which is a black-tie affair, will get underway with a champagne and jazz reception at 7.30pm, followed by dinner, an auction and a raffle. The night will then be given over to dancing and the music of Sean Slattery and the Connections.

A table of ten at the ball is priced at €900 and can be arranged through GOAL's West of Ireland office. Individual tickets can also be purchased for €90.
