The woman killed in last week's car accident in Clifden has been named as Meave Seoige from Cill Chiaran, Conamara. Ms Seoige was fatally injured in a single-vehicle crash at Coill Saile on the Kilkieran to Rosmuc Road at approximately 9.25pm last Wednesday night.

The 18 year old was the only passenger in her car and is understood to have lost control of the vehicle before it left the road. She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to University Hospital Galway.

Ms Seoige's funeral mass took place on Sunday in the parish church with burial afterwards in Cill Chiaran Cemetery.
