Galway City Councillor Collette Connolly has written to the Director of Services for the Environment, Tom Hernon to request an inspection by an Environmental Health officer of the chimney/boiler house on the UCHG site.

The step comes after a meeting with residents of Newcastle Park, at which the residents expressed their concern at the possible health and safety risks posed by the continuous smoke and smell emanating from the chimney.
