Cllr hits out at ‘chaotic’ road resurfacing works E-mail

A city councillor has hit out at recent road resurfacing works in the city, describing the works as uneven and chaotic.

Cllr Colette Connolly said she is “absolutely horrified” at the quality of the resurfacing work which has been carried out in the St Helen St, Henry St, Mill St and Presentation road area.

Cllr Connolly said: “The resurfacing is completely inconsistent; it is flush footpath to footpath in some areas and not in others, giving a total uneven and chaotic look. In some areas the grills are tarmaced over, in others the footpaths are marked, in other areas the join with adjacent roads is quite appalling, particularly at the Henry St playground area.”

Cllr Connolly has called on the Director of Services for Roads and Transportation, Ciaran Hayes to carry out an immediate inspection and remediation of the works done to date.
