Sponsored by Quinn Healthcare, the night will kick off with a wine reception at 7.30pm. Ten of Galway’s top shops will take part in the event, including Debenhams, Design House Barna, Beverley Hills, Anthony Ryan, Sasha, Madison, Fashion Club Athenry, Nestors, and Colette Latchford with hats by Melissa. Hair is by Queen B, while guests at the post-show party will be entertained by Silkwood and various exhibition stands will be a feature of the night. Event Organiser Margaret Tierney, who is a human resources manager with Console in Galway, is looking forward to the big night.
“It’s going to be a great night’s fun with Gareth O Callaghan and Sean Ban Breathnach strutting their stuff on the Catwalk along with Galway United player Barry Moran as well as the beautiful models from Catwalk Modelling Agency! It gives the people of Galway and beyond a chance to see the fashion trends for the next few seasons that are available right on their own doorstep. “We also have Sinead Ní Neachtain, editor of Galway Now, and journalist Bernie Ní Fhlatharta lined up to choose the Best Dressed Lady on the night, sponsored by Carlton Shearwater Hotel and Spa, and she won’t be from the catwalk! So it’s a chance for the women to dress up, enjoy themselves and ensure that the very important work of Console here continues.”
“We have one full time counsellor and four part-time counsellors who are sensitive to the uniqueness of each loss through suicide. There is a great demand for our services and we really want to keep our office in Galway open, but we need to raise the money to do that,” said Ms Tierney. As well as counselling and support for adults bereaved through suicide, Console Galway is hoping to introduce a Suicide Prevention programme, ‘Seasons for Growth’, into schools and colleges in the area. The programme helps pupils integrate the appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes to understand and cope with loss and grief. |
