Women of Windsurfing Ireland (WOWI) have received a substantial grant from the Sports Council of Ireland to continue their work in promoting windsurfing among women. The €17,000 grant will be used to hold a series of weekend windsurfing seminars in various schools around the country, one of which will be the Rusheen Bay Windsurfing School.

Rusheen Bay will host the women-only classes on Saturday, 11 and Sunday 12 August, with a subsidised fee of €120. Cathal Kavanagh of Rusheen Bay is looking forward to the weekend, adding that the school would have "done it for nothing" as they are eager to encourage more women to get involved in windsurfing.

Places on the course are limited so book early by phoning 087 2605702.
