Independent City Cllr Terry O'Flaherty has welcomed news that works are to be carried out at the junction to Meadow Grove and Beechwood Park, Ballybane, to prevent motorists carrying out u-turns in the area. Following representations from Cllr O'Flaherty and a notice of motion, the city roads engineer has assured her that works will commence shortly.

"I hope that is will resolve an issue that has been a great concern to the residents," she added.
