Almost 600 guests attended the ball, held on Saturday 16 February in the Radisson SAS Hotel, Galway. Brian Niland, member of the lifeboat crew and the National Maritime Ball Committee commented, “It costs €130,000 annually to ensure that the RNLI crew members receive the best possible training and that the boat and station are maintained so the crew can continue saving lives on Galway Bay. The funds raised by the Maritime Ball will go a long way in achieving this.”
