Gardaí have launched a fresh appeal for witnesses following a fatal road traffic incident in Spiddal last week.

Marco Voccai, a 35-year-old Swiss national, died when the car in which he was travelling spun out of control and hit the forecourt of a Texaco station just outside Spiddal village. He was travelling from Furbo to Spiddal when the incident occurred at approximately 11.50pm on Thursday night, 8 November.

The circumstances surrounding the single-vehicle collision are unknown and gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have seen the red hatchback Citroen ZX, registration number LU148859, to contact either Salthill or Spiddal Garda stations on 091-514720 and 091-553122 respectively.
