AIDS West will hold a special Memorial Concert in St Nicholas' Collegiate Church on Saturday 1 December at 8pm to mark World AIDS Day's 20th anniversary.

The concert is an opportunity for people to come together and offer their support to those who may feel they are forgotten in a world where more media-catching crises are highlighted.

It is also an occasion for AIDS West to acknowledge the many kind and generous people who have played a role in the development of the organisation throughout the score years.

Evelyn Stevens, one of the founder members of the organisation, will open this commemorative concert of music and performance. Members of the choir GLORIA are travelling from Dublin to perform as part of the event.

To celebrate the launch of ?Still Standing, an Irishwoman's story of HIV and Hope,' by Liz Martin, actor Máire Greaney will perform extracts from the book.

Two panels of the Irish AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display during the concert. The quilt is a memorial to Irish people who have died from AIDS.

This event is free of charge and everyone is welcome. For further information, contact AIDS West 091-566266.
