30th Clifden arts festival officially kicks off tomorrow E-mail

The official launch and opening of the 30th annual Clifden Community Arts Week will take place tomorrow, Thursday 20 September at 8pm. Olive Braiden who is Chair of the Arts Council of Ireland will officially open this year’s festival.

At the launch, The Fidget Feet Theatre Company will play their lively beats. Their motto is ‘try and sit still. Just try’ founded by Chantal McCormick and Jym Daly, their style of play is astonishing and mesmeric. They stretch the imagination by their use of a number of different art forms.

The weeklong event will see a variety of musicians, singers and poets take to the stage. Some of the major headlining acts include Christy Moore, Rye River Band, readings from Carol Ann Duffy, an in concert with Phillip Fogarty and several in shop workshops.
