Ó Cuív sanctions over €325,000 Islands E-mail

The Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Mr Éamon Ó Cuív TD, has announced a grant of €326,308 to carry out specific improvement works on the islands off the coast of Galway between now and the end of 2008.

Along with the grant that was sanctioned by the Minister, Galway County Council has allocated a grant of €210,435 to the scheme which means that works to the value of €536,743 will be carried out on coastal defence improvements as well as the upgrading and improvement of roads, slipways and other minor works.
