A man who stole from Dunnes Stores was fined ?250 at Galway District Court this week.

Petr Budzinski, (30), Flat 5, 22 Little Mary Street, Dublin 7, pleaded guilty to stealing cosmetics and groceries valued €32.41, the property of Dunnes Stores, Terryland on 13 January last. The court heard that the defendant purchased a hat and put it in a bag. He then picked up other products and left the store without paying.

Ms Olivia Traynor, solicitor, said her client worked as a plasterer in Dublin. The defendant, who came to Ireland last year, had come to Galway on the bus for the weekend to see his girlfriend. Ms Traynor noted that she was instructed that her client had money on him, but there was confusion in the store. He had co-operated with Gardaí. Mr Budzinski was remanded on bail to Court 44 at Chancery Street, Dublin, on 22 January regarding a non-appearance at that court on 28 July 2006.
