Galway nightclub, Central Park has been announced as the overall winner of the 2008 'Best Nightclub' Award at a gala industry awards ceremony held at the Four Seasons in Dublin on Monday. The annual awards, hosted by the 'Licensing World' trade magazine, are highly coveted in the entertainment industry.

Having been nominated as a finalist on previous occasions, a spokesperson for CP said it was fitting the club was announced as the overall winner in what is its twentieth year of trading.

Known as one of Galway's most prominent nightspots, the club is also renowned as a dominant force in the Irish club scene.
