Youth groups and schools in disadvantaged areas in Galway are set to benefit from new funding announced last week.

Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, éamon ó Cuív, TD, Education and Science Minister, Batt O'Keefe and Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Barry Andrews, have joined forces to announce the influx of over €8 million for youth groups and schools in disadvantaged areas around the country.

Of the nationwide total of 1,560 projects set to benefit from the equipment grants, 62 of those are located across Galway City and County. Altogether, Galway groups are set to benefit from €117,000 in additional funding.

What sort of equipment?

Will be interesting to see how this 117000 euro will be used. What would I do? I think I'd build a huge wall around all the delinquents and then fill it with water. The money left over could be used to demolish the wall afterwards.
