Turn up the heat in your bedroom this summer with some sexy new lingerie. While traditional stockings and suspenders may not suit everyone, there are loads of options available to suit every shape and colouring that are guaranteed to set his pulse racing. To find that perfect set, follow these simple guidelines to flattering your figure.

One of the most important things when buying underwear is that it fits properly. This may sound simple enough, but women often wear a smaller size, which results in unsightly lumps and bumps.

If you are not gifted with long legs, you'll want to choose lingerie that gives the illusion of leg length. To do this, choose styles that have a high cut leg to help maximize the height of your legs. For the more daring, a skimpy thong can make the legs look long and slim.

If you have small breasts, then why not try an underwired or padded bra to enhance those assets. Another strategy is to call attention to your legs by wearing a baby doll style that is cut high on the leg or a thong bottom.

If you have a plump tummy, it can be disguised by wearing lingerie in a dark, opaque fabric that covers the stomach. Stay away from light coloured, sheer lingerie that exposes the stomach area. If your have a nice bust line and shoulders, call attention away from the tummy area by emphasizing the upper half of your body.

A common mistake when buying lingerie and swimwear is that a negligee will be the most flattering option. However on the larger women, it can sometimes swamp the curves and end up looking 'tent-like'. If you're a plus-size woman, opt for two pieces.

Some of our favourite looks at the moment include this 'Amourette' two-piece from Triumph. The golden brown shade will be flattering to most skin types and the high waistline will disguise that muffin top! For those lucky enough to have a killer figure, this sizzling silver set, also from Triumph, emphasises every curve and is very alluring.

Finally, to make the most of that summer tan, opt for a virginal white shade in a lacy two-piece or slinky negligeé for maximum impact, such as these pieces from French label Lejaby.
