Gun-toting thugs aren’t the only ones infesting our streets; there is a lesser-known brands of hoodlums who are just as brazen and who aren’t afraid to tout their nefarious activities in front of all and sundry.

We’re talking about serious crimes of fashion - committed by those who think themselves above the conventions of colour and style. We should be thankful then for the Fashion Police and their website, which is proud to expose these clothing misdemeanours.

For them, you can break any law just so long as you don’t do it in high waisted denim shorts or a leopard print dress, white collar criminals should only be prosecuted if the collar clashes with cuffs and a prison sentence is unthinkable if only because of the daywear.

When Mandy Moore tried to re-brand herself as a Beverly Hillbilly, wearing a sack like dress, it wasn’t long before the Fashion Police objected. They also exposed the fruity-feeted Quai D’Òrsay Cocktail Gold Canvas and Leather Pump Shoes featuring faux orange and strawberry slices!

Such is their success, surely a TV show beckons. After all, TV hasn’t successfully mixed fashion and crime since Tubs and Crockett wantonly displayed their sun-bleached forearms in Miami Vice. A modern day version could be even more successful. Who wouldn’t get switched on by CSI wardrobe or NYPD shoe?
