Senator David Norris will officially open the Loughrea Family Resource Centre this Friday, 5 October, at its premises in Millennium House, Westbridge, Loughrea. The event will kick off at 1.30pm and the official opening will also incorporate the launch of the comprehensive Community Directory of Services recently compiled by the Family Resource Centre, which will be available to the public free of charge.

Loughrea Family Resource Centre is a community-based project that aims to provide a range of supports, services and development opportunities to individuals and community groups within Loughrea and its surrounding area. The centre intends to be a resource for the whole community regardless of age, gender, social circumstances, sexual orientation or ethnic origin and is open to the public between 9.30am and 1pm from Monday to Friday.

Loughrea Family Resource Centre is managed by a voluntary management committee and employs one full time co-ordinator and one part time administrator. The Family Resource Centre is established under the Department of Social and Family Affairs, is part of the Family and Community Resource Centre Programme and is funded through the Family Support Agency.

The staff and management of Loughrea Family Resource Centre would like as many people as possible to drop into the Resource Centre for the launch and they especially welcome members of the groups and organisation included in the community directory. For any further information call in to the centre of phone 091-871149.
