To help students ensure that their New Year resolutions are easier to keep, the Students' Union at NUI Galway hosts a Healthy Living Week from Tuesday 9 to Thursday 11 January.
The campaign aims to show students how easy it is to have a healthier
lifestyle and how it can fit into their daily life. The Students' Union
will be teaching students how to cook, demonstrating fun and easy ways
to exercise, how to have a good night out without drinking to excess
and, of course, providing the odd healthy freebie. The three-day
campaign will comprise of the overall health and wellbeing of the
student body, soul and mind.
Among
its many objectives, the Students' Union seeks to promote student
welfare. Improved diet, activity and social habits have a positive
impact on the whole student body, from clearing the mind to boosting
the immune system. The Students' Union has organised New Year
activities to prove to students that, in fact, a healthy lifestyle is
not as much hard work as it sounds and that it does not need to get in
the way of either study or having fun. In fact, it complements both.
