For me, the smell and sight of a tin of Dax Wax will always typify puberty of the late 1990s. Whether you had a preference of blue Dax, 'Dax short and neat,' or red Dax, 'Dax Wave and Groom' was as pivotal a question in your social standing as whether you were a fan of popular bands Blur or Oasis. The use of Dax Wax became very un-trendy towards the end of the teenage years when everyone had to be different and only the strongest smelling, most glue-like substance would suffice. Having conducted some hair experiments over the last number of months, hair products were not high on my list of necessities. After discovering that neither a long and messy mop nor the skinhead look suited me too well though, I have returned to short and sharp option. So when shopping for a new hair gel or wax last week, I was hit by a strange sense of déjà vu. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted the familiar Dax Wax logo, but this time in a purple tin. 'Dax super-neat' is the perfect product to make you look like you've made some kind of effort on a Monday morning. Although it is a wax, it isn't as heavy as most others, so it doesn't leave your hands in a ball of grease for the day. It is very light, but even the application of a small amount will be plenty to mould whatever look you're aiming for. |
