There has been huge interest in Caríosa’s Walk in aid of the Down Syndrome Galway Branch, according to Making Galway Proud representative, James Harris.
The walk will take place on Saturday 1 September from outside the offices of O’Dolan and Partner Auctioneers on the Docks to Blackrock in Salthill. The fundraising event is part of the Making Galway Proud’s 2007 efforts to improve speech and occupational therapy in Galway.
“There are still places available to take part on what will be an inspiring day for the Down Syndrome Galway Branch,” said Mr Harris.
“Voices for Galway consists of parents of children who have Down Syndrome. Their fight for speech and occupational therapy is a hard one and currently there is a four and a half year waiting list for this service. It is Making Galway Proud’s wish that their work during 2007 will raise awareness on this subject and much needed funding for this badly needed service,” he said.
Anyone interested in taking part in this walk can receive their sponsorship packs from O’Dolan and Partner’s Auctioneers on 091-865000.
