Doing a DIY French polish can be extremely difficult, from getting the white lines straight to picking the perfect top coat. So here are some tips to getting the perfect manicure at home. When giving yourself a French manicure, place a nail guide or simply a piece of masking tape over your nail, leaving just the tip showing. Then apply your white nail polish. After the polish has dried, peel off the tape and admire your perfect white tips. Alternatively, if you find the applicator brush for the white nail polish very thick and awkward, try using an eyeliner or lip brush instead for a more exact result. Then clean in polish remover before running along the inside of the line for a perfect finish. One of the most recommended white polishes on the market is Revlon's White on White, as its chalky shade is more natural than many others. Finally, coat the nail in a pink or peach nail polish, such as Chanel's Flamme Rose and top off with a glossy topcoat. Another helpful tip is to apply Vaseline to skin around your nails before painting, making sure not to get any on the nail itself. If you are a bit messy and get nail polish on your fingers it will just wipe off! Voila, perfect manicured nails without the hefty price tag! |
