One of Galway's leading trainers hosted the first meeting of CHEK Practitioners last week. Galway's only Level 2 CHEK Practitioner and personal trainer, Mary FitzPatrick of healthfitz.ie facilitated the meeting, which discussed such issues as challenges of food selection and quality, back pain, breathing techniques and fertility issues relating to lifestyle and food quality. CHEK Practioners see clients coming in to get fit, healthy or improve their sports performance that are not adequately nourished or are carrying some kind of pain or injury. Their development as fitness trainers means that they can offer clients help to eliminate pain, improve posture or develop into high-end athletes, whatever their goal is. "Understanding how food, breathing, posture and rest affect our everyday function puts CHEK-trained professionals in a unique position to benefit their every client," says Mary, who has recently returned from London after advancing her training. Also in attendance were Fiona Healy, based in Kildare and Nathan Beuck. The development of CHEK training is set to continue in Galway at Upper Abbeygate Street and Results Personal Training Studio in Liosbán, with the next CHEK meeting scheduled to take place this autumn. |
