The Renmore Military Barracks History Society's public lecture season will recommence on Thursday 18 January with a talk titled 'The Gathering Storm; The Origins of the Great War'.

This presentation will consider the events leading up to the outbreak of World War One, in which over ten million people perished, Russia succumbed to a communist revolution, Germany was defeated, and Britain was finished as a Global power.

This lecture will try to explain the events that led each down the path of their own destruction.

The talk has been moved to a larger hall due to increasing interest. A buffet and light refreshments will follow the talk. The event is free, but places must be reserved in advance.

To reserve a place, or for further information, contact Sgt Brian Smyth at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or by phone or text at 087-9083105.
