Tartan and plaid are back with a bang this season and M&S have a fresh take on the trend by combining key prints with timeless winter favourites.

This red double-breasted peacoat (€105) is tailored to flatter and is great for updating a simple work outfit for winter. Alternatively, this mustard tartan skirt (€60) would look great teamed with a plain tee and chunky boots.

For the more daring, add clashing plaid tights to a tartan dress and you have autumn/winter style all sewn up. Or if the thought of so much pattern scares you, throw on a luxurious tartan cashmere scarf (€55) and you're good to go!
