Organisations in the Galway area are committed to helping their employees make positive lifestyle choices.

That's according to Dr Louise Sullivan, Manager of the Nutrition and Health Foundation (NHF).

According to the NHF, their 'Workplace Wellbeing Campaign' has seen unprecedented success in County Galway.

The NHF brings together industry, government, scientists and health professionals to provide consumers with evidence-based information on nutrition and physical activity, which enables them to make informed lifestyle choices.

Local companies have helped the national health promotion campaign targeted at workplaces, to exceed its original expectations of reaching over 37,000 employees and has led to the second print run of free information packs running out in just four weeks.

To meet this strong demand, the NHF is now printing a third batch of materials with a new target of reaching 62,000 people nationwide this year.

The packs include advice for both employers and employees about healthier lifestyles, good nutrition and the importance of adequate physical activity in the workplace.

Each pack is completely free of charge and contains a comprehensive manual toolkit for management, nutrition and activity promotion posters, a personal nutrition and exercise information booklet for each member of staff, a notepad with healthy lifestyle messaging for each member of staff and access to the 'Workplace Wellbeing Network'.

Any businesses interested in participating in the campaign can request a free pack by contacting: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
