An informative meeting on haemochromatosis will take place on Wednesday 23 January at Galway Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) at 8pm.

Haemochromatosis is an iron overload disorder and is one of the most common but under diagnosed hereditary disorders. It is more prevalent in Ireland than anywhere else in the world. Symptoms include chronic fatigue, joint pain, diabetes, loss of sex drive and irregular heartbeat.

Dr John Lee, Consultant Gastroenterologist at UHG, will speak at the meeting.

This meeting will provide an opportunity to talk to experts in the field and also to meet other people interested in the disorder.
