The employees of Caragh Tool and Die Ltd have raised €5,700 for the charitable organisation Enable Ireland.

A 40k cycle from Loughrea to Galway was organised by employees of the local engineering company in December 2006. This event continues the company's Christmas tradition of organising a charity event and donating all proceeds to a local charity.

Enable Ireland is the leading national voluntary organisation providing essential services to people with disabilities and their families. In Galway, Enable Ireland provides a range of services from the Child Development Centre on the Seamus Quirke Rd.

Joanne Murphy, Fundraising Co-ordinator with Enable Ireland, said Enable Ireland relied heavily on the generosity and ongoing support of the people of Galway to continue to provide and develop essential services in Galway, enabling those who use our services achieve maximum independence, choice and inclusion in their communities. Fundraising is continuing for the Hydrotherapy Treatment Pool.
