The national depression charity Aware is looking for volunteers to assist at its annual fundraiser, ‘Daisy Days’, during September.
With 400,000 people in Ireland experiencing depression, and one in three people affected by the condition at some point in their lives, Aware provides vital services for a huge amount of Galway people. Volunteers can help by organising rotas of their local area, or by collecting for a few hours on any of the days.
Aware relies on Daisy Days to raise 80 per cent of its annual budget, which goes towards the maintenance and development of Aware’s services, which include a national network of support groups for those suffering from depression, as well as their families, and a LoCall helpline.
To volunteer for Daisy Days call the fundraising department on 01 661 7211 or email
