Some people develop a condition called impaired glucose tolerance. As the name suggests, they have impaired glucose tolerance while they are in the medium to normal range. This is sometimes called pre-diabetes. If you do suspect that you have diabetes, the first thing is to consult your GP and get yourself fully investigated. Your GP might send you to a specialist, who would then recommend appropriate treatment. Over the next few weeks I will discuss the signs and symptoms of diabetes, recommend some naturopathic treatments and suggest a programme of preventative care. Always consult your GP before starting any new regime or self treatment.
