This is the advice from style coach Mary Dolan who says "style coaching is not just about the image you present to yourself and the world around you, it's about yourself body and mind and how you feel about yourself inside and out and the importance of being happy in your own style".

Mary offers four-hour consultations where she meets the client in a local hotel for one hour, dealing with hair/make-up advice, body analysis and colour analysis and any other issues you may have including weight management and motivation techniques. Literature is given as well as a personalised colour swatch while she works through confidence issues, urging clients to try out new ideas.

The next step is to hit the shops where the client is asked to try on new looks and once they establish what shapes and colours are suitable, the outfits come together very quickly and are accessorised with costume jewellery. According to Mary, you don't have to purchase the most expensive items in the shop, just know how to put them together and if they suit your particular body shape and colouring. She says she's always looking for "the look for less".

As well as her personalised service, Mary also hosts classes of ten people in local hotels dealing with weight management, hair and makeup advice, as well as body and colour analysis. These courses are very popular among ladies who may not like the idea of participating in personal shopping.

The next event is scheduled for Saturday 29 March and will be held in the Meyrick Hotel, Galway from 2 to 5pm and the price is €50 per person. Early booking is advisable so call Mary on 087-2598804.
