Dear Editor,
Tuam Market Group would like to extend a big thank you to the people of Tuam and surrounding areas for their support and encouragement in reviving the tradition of Market Day in Tuam. We appreciate the efforts of both the traders and the community in braving the elements over the last couple of months to ensure the success and continuity of the market.

It is an exciting time for local producers, with the universal trend toward community markets. In Tuam, it is a welcomed revival of a long-standing market tradition. The committee is working to bring the best quality in organic produce and home-produced artesian delicacies as well as exceptional crafts to transform our market into a unique shopping experience for locals and visitors alike.

In addition to providing access to outstanding goods and crafts to consumers, it is hoped that market days will be enjoyable and vitalizing ones for the community at large. To that end, the committee welcomes the participation of arts and community groups to join in our efforts to make the market an exhilarating monthly event for all.

Many individuals and businesses were extremely helpful and the Tuam Market Group would like to thank personally the following people; Councillor Sean Canney, Galway County Council, Councillor Martin Ward, Mayor of Tuam, Peter Gavin, Tuam Town Engineer, Sean Kilroy, Galway County Council, Steven Wilson, Geoghegans Plant & Tool Hire, Anne Garvey, Garvey's Bakery, Marty Reddington, Tuam Hardware, Pat Dempsey, Dempsey's Butchers, all the staff at Tuam Herald, Connaughton's, Alan McGrath, Ocean Health Store, Ray Collins, Tuam Shopping Centre, Monahan's Motor Parts, Mervyn Fahy, Ollie Maloney and all the market traders, producers and the Residents of Church Lane. To all the people who have worked to make the market a success we are most grateful for their efforts.

Tuam Market Group wishes to ensure the continuation of the market tradition and spirit, and are planning a re-launch of Tuam Market Day in spring with a new location and renewed focus. Tuam Market Group is deeply committed to developing and improving Tuam Market Day to the highest standard possible with the highest quality produce and crafts possible. We aim to make our monthly market an event we can all take pride in. We look forward to announcing details of the next Market Day in the coming weeks.

We thank you again and wish you all well.

Slán!
Tuam Market Group
