Renmore road system a 'shambles'
Page 2

I noticed she had a child in the back seat and pointed out that, with a child in the car, she should be more careful and learn how to drive and read the road signs. The so-called lady used the most appalling language at me and sped off. Hardly the perfect role model for her child!

An elderly lady then approached me stating that she had never heard language like it and that she could have killed me with her driving.

It astounds me that the road signs advising people of new traffic laws are blatantly being ignored by selfish drivers, some of whom are residents in the area. I am also angry that guards are not stopping the drivers and issuing them with fines or penalty points.

I guess the guards are too busy helping queues of drunks board buses in Eyre Square to go to the Races or directing over zealous drivers on route to the Races to be bothered with small back roads where they won't earn any extra income.

What will it take for this to be addressed? A local child being killed by speeding lawbreakers? For years there has been a campaign to manage the traffic in Renmore, but if this shambles is typical of traffic management then you can keep it. It does not matter what you do. If there is no accountability for breaking the law then why bother having any?
