Proud of 'Show Racism the Red Card' campaign E-mail

Dear Editor,
I would like to congratulate Galway United Football Club and Daniel Walsh, Promotions Officer in particular for highlighting the Show Racism the Red Card Campaign at last Friday Night's match with Longford Town.

A crowd of just under three thousand watched as the players from both teams were joined by mascots from local clubs to demonstrate Galway football's united front against racism. You could see in their faces the buzz the kids got as they were taken by the hand and ran across the Terryland pitch by the players from both sides as they emerged from the tunnel.

It's terrific to see such a good example being shown at local level and Galway United deserve the support of a lot more people as they strive to retain their place in the Premier Division of the League of Ireland. So support your local team and head up to Terryland for the last two home matches of the season against Derry City and UCD.

Mike Geraghty,
24 Upper Newcastle,
Galway
