There is more information available about this EU Lisbon Reform Treaty Campaign than during any other previous treaty referendum to date.

Recently the Referendum Commission, which is an independent body set up by law, was established to provide information and promote public awareness about this treaty. This website, www.lisbontreaty2008.ie provides an impartial view on the EU Lisbon Reform Treaty. The Referendum Commission will be sending out impartial information material to every household in advance of the referendum concerning the provisions of this treaty.

There is a dedicated Department of Foreign Affairs website, www.reformtreaty.ie, which contains the Official Consolidated EU Treaties as amended by the EU Lisbon Reform Treaty, a White Paper on the EU Reform Treaty and all relevant documents related to the Treaty.

A pamphlet on the treaty was published last December and a plain guide last February. These have been widely distributed and advertisements have been placed in the national media highlighting their availability.

The Joint Oireachtas Committee on Europe is holding a series of public regional plenary sittings dedicated to public discussion on the Lisbon Reform Treaty.

The National Forum on Europe, www.forumoneurope.ie, has produced a summary guide and it is organising public meetings all over the country, which, gives members of the public an opportunity to have a say in the discussion on the Lisbon Reform Treaty.

The Institute of European Affairs has published a Consolidated Version of the Treaties. It is available on their website www.iiea.com or in every library in the country.

There is a low-call number 1850 211 602 where you can request information on the Treaty.

Separate from this, political parties and business groups have dedicated website and information campaigns operating. The Fianna Fáil website is called www.vote4europe.ie and the Ibec website is called www.ibeclisbon.ie. Fianna Fáil is also running over 50 different information campaigns around the country.
