Page 2 of 2 We in Tuam Sinn Féin are conducting a petition on Saturday 6 October in relation to the Grove Hospital. This will ask the people of the area to join us in making it a petition of substance. What do we hope to accomplish by this petition, you may ask? We will deliver this petition to the next meeting of the town council, where we believe that a senior member of the HSE will be in attendance. From there on we will try to build a cohesive, coherent and robust campaign to reopen the Grove, our hospital! To do this, we must campaign all of our elected representatives from Town Council up to Leinster House. We must do this, not as any one political party, but as a community, so let’s put our political differences aside and work together as one. It is ironic that the party I am a member of, its name being Sinn Féin, literally means, us alone, which is just what we the citizens of this region are: alone. I will sign off not as Cathaoirleach of Tuam Sinn Féin, but as a concerned cancer survivor. If anyone wishes to help out in this campaign, they may contact me on the number provided.
