Dear Editor, It has come to our attention that there is confusion in relation to this organization, which is calling to the homes of your readers seeking sign-up to direct debits for heart research. The Irish Heart Foundation would like to stress that signing up to these direct debits with this organisation is not a donation to the Irish Heart Foundation. The Irish Heart Foundation is the national heart health charity founded in Ireland in 1966. Our charity is registered with the Irish Revenue Commissioners under the charity number CHY5507 and we are 90 per cent funded by public donations. For more than 40 years our charity has been working to improve the cardiovascular health of people living in Ireland, so that they do not suffer disability or die from preventable heart disease, stroke and other vessel diseases. To our supporters who wish to make a donation to the Irish Heart Foundation's research and other programmes, phone 01-668 5001, log on to www.irishheart.ie or send a cheque to the Irish Heart Foundation, 4 Clyde Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. Finally, I wish to thank your readers for their continued support and kindness, which enables us to make a difference to people affected by heart disease and stroke. Yours sincerely, |
