Dear Editor, No they are not; what they are sick of is dodginess in political life. They are sick of Fianna Fáil wannabes churning out the same old line about the length and cost of tribunals, while carefully avoiding any mention of how some politicians have brought these conditions about by obstructing and subverting tribunals over the years. Mr Grealish also seems oblivious to the fact that it is wrong for any politician to accept donations of cash, no matter what the circumstances. Silly things like ethics and all that. Again, he tells the public to leave all conclusions to the Mahon Tribunal, before he rushes into some himself. Naturally, like any good Fianna Fail TD - let's call a spade a spade here - he wants the tribunals wound up. There has been a concerted attack by Fianna Fáil and their apparatchiks on the Mahon Tribunal and tribunals in general, and one would be forgiven for believing that this was part of a campaign to deride the work of the tribunals as Bertie Ahern's time in front of Mahon drew closer. Deputy Grealish followed Bertie, his boss-in-waiting, by making statements about the nastiness of Opposition parties while safely out of the country; Florida, indeed, which must gladden the hearts of his Galway constituents back here under the rain. Remember the Golden Rule, folks - he works for you, not the other way around.
Sincerely, |
