After the success of ‘Annie’ last year, the Taibhdhearc presents a new musical drama this Christmas, based on the fairytales of the popular Danish writer, Hans Christian Andersen. Who can forget those childhood tales such as Thumbelina, The Emperor’s New Clothes, The Ugly Duckling and The Little Mermaid?
Daithí O’Donnell will play Hans in ‘Hans Christian agus a chairde’, and there will be Irish dancers from the Hession School of Irish Dance as well as ballerinas from Youth Ballet West. The shows start on 13 December during the day for schools, then continues until 21 December in the evening with some matinées at the weekend. This promises to be a musical and dance extravaganza! This is a brand new production written by Mary McCarthy, a teacher from Gaelscoil Mhic Amhlaigh, and directed by Anne McCabe. The musical director is Matthew Berrill.
