Galway Gardaí have warned that bike theft remains prevalent in the city, after five bikes were stolen in the city in four days, three of them on the same day.
There are little preventative measures that can be taken against lock cutting or removal, according to Gardaí, but they have warned cyclists to be extra vigilant around hospitals and colleges, where a significant amount of bike theft occurs.
