Galway WFC were unlucky not to take something from their clash with Raheny United going down 2-1 to in Morton Stadium, Santry on Sunday.
The reigning champions have moved five points clear of nearest rivals Peamount United, who are next up for Galway WFC when they host them in Eamonn Deacy Park on April 13th in their last home game of the season. Indeed a victory for Galway WFC against the Peas will all but hand the title to Raheny.
Galway WFC went ahead thanks to a Sinéad Taylor goal in the 25th minute of their game, but just a minute later Raheny levelled through Rebecca Creagh, as Niamh Walsh’s strike in injury-time clinched the win.
