A new study centre has opened in Galway, based on the Kumon study method.
The new Kumon Galway West Study Centre will offer Kumon’s unique maths and English programmes to children of all ages and abilities. Established for over 50 years, the worksheet-based Kumon programmes enable children to develop their study skills and confidently tackle advanced work.
Through the maths and English programmes, Kumon will nurture children’s independent study skills, so they can apply this approach to all subjects and outside of school too. Kumon develops children through the acquisition of independent learning skills, rather than teaching in the conventional sense.
Students will initially start at a comfortable level, with a focus on building a strong foundation in the way they study; they will develop invaluable study skills such as concentration, pace and rhythm, before confidently tackling topics they will not have previously studied.
“I am passionate about empowerment, about enabling people to become the very best they can be. I am delighted to embrace the Kumon Method of empowering young people through individualised maths and English programmes,” commented Denise Heneghan, Instructor at the Galway City West Study Centre.
The Galway West Study Centre is located at Westside Community Resource Centre, Seamus Quirke Road, with classes taking place on Mondays and Thursdays from 3pm to 5pm. The centre is located next to Westside Library where students can access books and take part in reading activities.
