The staff at Portumna Retirement Village have been nominated for two awards, with Johnny Kelly in contention for the Nursing Home Ancillary Worker Award and Tony Williams shortlisted for the Nursing Home Community Initiative Award.
Each worker is one of three finalists in their award categories. In excess of 300 nominations were received for the Nursing Home Ireland Care Awards 2012 in nine award categories and 24 finalists are now going forward to the final.
The Galway finalists now go forward to the prestigious national awards ceremony that will take place in Citywest Hotel in Dublin on 15 November. Nursing Homes Ireland represents the private and voluntary nursing home sector and nominations were submitted by nursing home residents, visitors to homes, staff, and people in communities across Ireland.
