Four men have appeared at Galway District Court this morning in connection with a €750,000 drug seizure in the county over the weekend.
Six people were initially arrested after gardaí seized cannabis plants with a street value of up to €750,000 as part of a planned operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the western region.
Two houses in the Tuam area and one house in the Oughterard area were searched during the raid and five men and one woman were subsequently arrested and detained for questioning at Mill Street and Loughrea Garda Stations under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
A garda spokesperson confirmed this morning that four men have been charged in relation to the seizure at a sitting of Galway District Court this morning. The other two suspects remain in custody.
