The eighth race of the Late Summer series took place on Tuesday 4 September, with conditions good and accompanied by sunshine and a reasonable northeasterly breeze.
In competition, there were seven Dart 16’s, an FX1 and a Hobie Tiger and three monohulls.
The course consisted of an outward reach from Renville to Dillisk, followed by a series of downwind upwind legs before a final reach back to the finish line at the clubhouse in Renville.
Competition was tight amongst the Darts with Gerard and Paddy Hogan leading at the final mark, only to be overtaken on the final leg by Kevin Thornton and Tony Tehan.
Within the Dart competition, there was a well-deserved first place for Tony Tehan, a second for Kevin Thornton and third for Gerard Hogan.
Within the faster white multihull boats, first place went to Rory Carbery and with the monohulls first place went to Tommy Furey, second to Yannick Lemonnier and third to John Barry
