Bon Secours is seeking permission to extend its Endoscopy Department and add on a consultants’ clinic at the Dublin Road hospital.
The private hospital has lodged an application for the construction of a 131 square metre extension to the Endoscopy Department, which includes a first floor plant room. The proposed extension would be located in the existing theatre courtyard.
Planning permission is also being sought for the demolition of the existing Gate Lodge and attached concrete yard, which is located adjacent to the main entrance to the hospital, and the erection of a standalone single storey 147 square metre consultants’ clinic on the site of the existing Gate Lodge. The clinic would comprise two suites, a reception and waiting areas.
The planning application also includes works to the main entrance, realignment of the entrance boundary wall and internal roadways and pedestrian paths, site works, landscaping, ancillary and associated works.
A decision is due from city planners by 2 October.
